Ramona Real Estate
Ramona is a town which is rich in western culture which dates back more
than
100 years. Full of warmth and romance, Ramona is home to Velaque House
the
only remaining adobe home of French provincial design. The house is
home to
the Guy B. Woodward museum which is part of a group of historical
buildings
including shops, exhibits, a research library and artifacts from the
local
area.
Located 36 miles northeast of the city of San Diego in the Cuyamaca
mountain
foothills, the town of Ramona lies at an altitude of 1400 feet. A
short
drive on the other side of the mountains is the beautiful Anza Borrego
Desert. Ramona residents enjoy clean air, gentle breezes and days of
glorious sunshine.
Ramona offers residents a great combination of small town, rural living
coupled with the amenities of a much larger community. There is a wide
variety of banking and shopping choices and health-care facilities.
The town offers two parks which offer families a great place for
picnics to
complete camping facilities. Each of the parks is unique and offers
features such as hiking trails, an outdoor pavilion, and tennis courts.
The Chamber of Commerce sponsors an annual golf tournament and is held
at
one of the town's 2 golf courses. The first area golf course was
designed
by Ted Robinson and is located at the San Vicente Inn. The course
offers
6,585 yards of challenging course. This 18-hole course has been rated
on of
the top courses in the U.S. The course is home to a 3,000 acre planned
community named San Diego Country Estates.
