Rancho Penasquitos Real Estate
Located to the south of Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Penasquitos is a
master-planned community that lies within the city limits of the City
of San
Diego. The area is situated on the north side of the Los Penasquitos
Canyon
Preserve and just west of I-15, which offers residents access to the
rest of
San Diego County.
The area encompasses approximately ten thousand acres which include the
Black Mountain Regional Park. 51% of the space is reserved for the
development of residential neighborhoods, while 34% is set aside for
open
space and parks. Another 2% of the space is for commercial
development.
The area's most visible landmark is Black Mountain which rises 1,500
feet.
Rancho Penasquitos offers living in a country setting while still being
within the city limits.
Middle class homes dominate the area while some custom homes exist.
The
placement of the neighborhoods on top of mesas and hills offers up
great
views for residents. Area neighborhoods are well-maintained and quiet;
great for families with children. There is a smaller offering of
condominiums and townhomes.
The educational needs of the area are provided by the popular Poway
Unified
School District; which is rated as one of the best in the county. Many
sports leagues and recreational activities are offered and thrive in
the
area. At one point in time, the Rancho Penasquitos Little League was
the
largest in the U.S. Several small shopping centers around the area
provide
goods and services to local residents. The larger shopping areas of
Mira
Mesa Boulevard and Carmel Mountain are within minutes drive.
One of the county's newest freeway projects- SR 56 bisects the area,
and
opened in 2005, providing a much-needed inland east-west link between
I-15
and I-5 for area residents.
