Vista Real Estate
The city of Vista is situated 7 miles inland and approximately 545
miles
north of downtown San Diego along the HWY-78 corridor. For several
years
the area was best known for its agriculture. It was known for its
flowers,
citrus, avocado, and nut trees.
The name Vista means "view" in Spanish, possibly in reference to the
surrounding area's rolling hills.
The city of Vista was incorporated in 1963. Since that time the city
has
tripled in size gaining a population of 83,000 residents. It has
become
known and recognized as one of the best places in America to raise a
family.
The Vista area was originally a part of several historic Spanish land
grants. The area is home to two adobes. Homes and condominiums are
continuing to be
constructed in an area that was once a big agricultural center.
Several
shopping centers offer residents a wide variety of goods and services
with
large concentration of home improvement/furnishings retailers based
nearby
along the 78 freeway. The area offers a growing business base which
offers
residents growing opportunities to obtain work close to their homes.
The Wave water park offers up great warm-weather entertainment for
families
while the Vista Moonlight Amphitheater offers a wide variety of
performances
throughout the summertime. The Vista Historical Museum along with the
Antique Gas Museum and the Rancho Vista Adobe round out the attractions
that
showcase the area's rich history. The Japanese Cultural Center holds
many
events for the area's Japanese community and is an active Buddhist
Temple.
